Singers from more than 12 countries, alongside local children, students and adults, will unite in Bath for a special multigenerational concert celebrating the power of music, community and light.
On Sunday 29th November 2026, Bath will welcome a very special musical gathering as KONEKTO presents A Season of Light – Carols by Candlelight at St Mary’s, Bathwick, at 3pm (free entry - donations are welcome).
Bringing together singers from more than 12 countries, the concert will celebrate the joy and uplifting spirit of Christmas through music centered around the theme of light. From young children's voices to students, community singers and experienced professional musicians, performers of different generations and backgrounds will share one stage in a celebration of connection, hope and togetherness.
The concert will be led by renowned British conductor Tori Longdon, whose inspiring musical leadership will bring together this international ensemble for an afternoon of festive music. The programme will feature the KONEKTO
International Vocal Ensemble, international community singers (KONEKTO's Kollektives), and the wonderful young voices of Voices for Life Children's Choir, students from Frome College and Frome Sellwood School.
Adding a special dimension to the programme, Helen Ostafew, composer in residence with KONEKTO who hails from Frome, will contribute her own compositions, bringing fresh musical perspectives to this celebration of light.
At the heart of KONEKTO is the belief that music has the extraordinary ability to connect people across borders, languages and generations. Its name, inspired by the Esperanto word for konnektion, reflects this mission: creating opportunities for people to come together, make music and build lasting connections.
A Season of Light is an invitation to experience that spirit first-hand, a joyful afternoon where professional musicians, aspiring young singers and people from the wider community come together, united by their love of music.
Whether through familiar Christmas carols or uplifting contemporary choral works, the concert promises to offer a moment of warmth, inspiration and shared celebration as the festive season begins.A SEASON OF LIGHT – CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT
